Lend-A-Hand Program

Lend A Hand is a voluntary participation program that encourages all families to prayerfully consider increasing their stewardship of time and talent to Holy Name School.  With all hands on deck, the necessary “family chores” require less time for everyone and participation in these activities comes with a great sense of ownership of the success of the school.

Suggested goals are 12 hours for a single-parent family; 24 hours for a two-parent family; and, 36 hours for those families receiving tuition assistance.

There are many great opportunities throughout the year to help including: Fall Festival, PTO, Atheltic Gate & Concessions, washing lunch tables, and helping with the Used Uniform Swap.  The list goes on and on.

Yes! Feel free to invite a relative to lend a hand and their hours can be donated to your family.  Keep in mind that only 1 family can claim the donated hours and/or the time could be split between multiple families.  (Example:  A grandparent volunteers in the classroom 10 hours per year.  One of the families of the their grandchildren can claim all 10 hours or the time could be split into 5 hours each for 2 different families.)  Remember that it is your responsibilty to include their hours  in your Family Portal Account.

Does donating items count as lending a hand?
Yes!  Just keep in mind that lend-a-hand is not tied to the monetary value of what you donate, however it is tied directly to the amount of time that it takes for you to purchase, make, and/or deliver the item.  (Example:  If you make cookies for Teacher Appreciation Week.  Count the amount of time it takes you to shop for, bake, and deliver the cookies.)

Does my child's service hours count toward our familly goal?
No.  Middle School Students have their own service goal requirements and their hours are accounted for separately.
