Middle School

Sixth through Eighth Grades

In the middle school at Holy Name, students are exposed to a rigorous and well-rounded curriculum.  We strive to develop students who are strong in faith, strong in academics, and strong in character.  They are instructed in religion, literature and language arts, math, science and social studies.  As part of their enrichment curriculum, middle school students participate in CAD (computer aided design), 3D printing, technology, physical education, speech and music throughout the week.   These enrichment classes rotate with each grading period so that students can experience a wide range of opportunities that push them past the typical core subject learning.

They are also part of a unique program called "Christ In Me".  The "Christ in Me" program teaches our HNS 6th, 7th and 8th grade students how to incorporate their faith and spirituality into their daily life using biblical principles and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Middle school classes are based on a "block schedule".  The block schedule is a system of scheduling the school day by replacing a more traditional schedule of 50 minute daily class periods with longer class periods that meet fewer times each week for 75 minutes.  The HNS Middle School students have alternating "Green" and "White" day schedules so that students will have all of their scheduled classes over a two day repeating period.
