Cheri Phillips

Middle School Science Teacher

Cheri Phillips is a native of Henderson and a mother of 2 grown children, Chelsea and Chad, as well as a grandmother of two, Isaiah and Adalynn. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and being at the ocean. She also has a fondness for cats and is sometimes referred to as the “crazy cat lady.”
Cheri is a 1979 graduate of Henderson County High School. She continued her education at Brescia and the Henderson Community College earning an associate degree in laboratory technology. Upon graduating, she was employed in a clinical hospital and nutritional microbiology laboratory for 16 years. She continued her education at the University of Southern Indiana receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in 1999 and a Master’s of Science in Education in 2005.  Additionally, Cheri earned a middle school endorsement in general science. Before teaching at Holy Name School grades 5-8, Cheri taught life science at South Middle School and coached cheer.  Cheri has been teaching for 20 years and currently serves as the HNS STREAM committee chairperson and has coached HNS cheer and 6th grade academics in the past. She enjoys being able to teach students how to solve problems and loves being able to integrate faith and science at Holy Name School.
