Leigh Ann Wehr

Middle School English Language Arts Teacher

Leigh Ann Wehr is originally from Bellevue, Kentucky graduating from Bellevue High School where she was a member of the cheer and track teams.  She then attended Eastern Kentucky University (second generation:  Go Colonels!) earning her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  She taught at Dayton Middle/High School in Dayton, Kentucky before moving to the Evansville/Henderson area.  A resident of Henderson for 29 years, she taught at Harwood Middle School, Evans Middle School, and Hebron Elementary (coaching cheer, track, and basketball) for the EVSC before taking a (lengthy:  10 years!) break as full time mom to Renner.  During that time she received her Master of Education from Indiana Wesleyan University.  She has been at Holy Name School grades 5-8 for the past 11 years as teacher, track, and academic coach.  One could say she followed in the family business as her father Bill, mother Janet, sister Robin and an aunt and uncle were all teachers/administrators at various schools in Kentucky.  Leigh Ann currently lives in Henderson, Kentucky with her husband Lary (Murray State University), son Renner (Western Kentucky University), and their two dogs Hilde and Gertie. She enjoys time at her home on Lake Barkley, visiting her home town of Bellevue, or spending time in Siesta Key, Florida.
