Resource Teacher

Sister Laurita was born and raised in Springfield, KY. She grew up with 3 brothers and 5 sisters on a farm in Washington County. She attended St. Rose Catholic Elementary School and Fredericktown High School. After high school, she entered the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph. She earned her BS from Brescia College (now University) and her Masters from Western Kentucky University in Elementary Education. Sister has taught in several schools in the Diocese of Owensboro, joining the staff of Holy Name in 2000. She spent most of her years teaching first and second grades.  Now she enjoys being a Resource teacher. She love spending her spare time reading, cross stitching and visiting the sick, taking them the Eucharist. In 2014 she received an award for Outstanding Educator of the Year for the Diocese of Owensboro.
