Christina Shires
Middle School Literature Teacher
Christina Shires teaches all levels of 7th, 8th, and 9th grade literature (English I). Mrs. Shires graduated from Purdue University in 1991 with a degree in technical writing and a minor in Spanish. She later earned her English Language Arts teaching degree from Murray State University and her Master of Science degree in Secondary Education from The University of Southern Indiana. Upon graduating from Purdue, Mrs. Shires began her career in the corporate world and worked in Chicago for a package design company writing packaging text for various international food and beverage companies. She was also the Director of Membership Sales and Catering Manager for The Chicago Athletic Association organizing large events for businesses and professional athletes. Mrs. Shires began her teaching career at Henderson County High School where she taught English IV, Technical English, Reading Strategies, and Teen Leadership. She was the chairman of the literacy committee and is a local, state, and national presenter for reading strategies to assist struggling readers. She and her husband have two children. Ashley is a senior at the University of Alabama, and Abby is a 6th grader at HNS.
