The 7th graders begin junior high with an all-day retreat at St. Margaret Chapel in September. We enjoy a variety of prayer and meditation experiences in the chapel, in meeting rooms, in the woods adjacent to Audubon Park .
The 8th graders have several retreats during the school year. There is a retreat day at St. Meinrad Monastery in April, a Sunday afternoon Confirmation Retreat in early May, and a last-day-of-school on graduation day.
The first and second graders participate in a one-day religious retreat each year at the end of the Lenten season. We focus on the holiest of weeks in the church calendar: Holy Week. We include Palm Sunday and Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem, Holy Thursday and the Passover meal at the Last Supper and the washing of the feet, Good Friday and the Stations of the Cross, and Easter and Jesus' glorious resurrection. The children experience each of these holy days that Jesus lived through prayer, music, re-enactments, and instructional activities. It is a very inspiring day for the children.
