Holy Name’s athletics are solely funded by the parent-driven Athletic Booster Club. Nine different sports are offered to students in grades 5-8. Parent involvement is essential to the revenue projects sponsored by the athletic booster club. The club promotes good sportsmanship and physical well being through diverse program offerings.
Coaches are carefully selected by Holy Name School’s administrators and must complete the Diocesan Safe Environment Program and a background check. Prayer and Catholic identity are very much a part of every sports event at Holy Name School.
Holy Name strongly encourages every 7th and 8th grader to be involved in some extra-curricular activity. We feel it helps keep students focused and provides a safe social outlet. Close to 75% of our Jr. High students become involved in at least one sport offered at Holy Name School. A few also become involved in programs offered at other schools that allow our students to participate. Football is an option for our students through North Middle, South Middle, and Memorial cub league. Wrestling and baseball are also available through the Memorial cub program.
There will be a once a year athletic fee of $20. This fee is not per sport but per athlete. The fee must be paid before the athlete’s first competition or performance.
