The Curriculum Committee for Schools of the Diocese of Owensboro, Kentucky (which includes Holy Name School) was established in April 1994 to provide direction in developing the curricula for all subject areas. In order to provide direction, there was also a need for a long term, comprehensive curriculum plan. A time line was established for assessing and developing a curriculum that would be consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church, would address educational reform, and would include the requirements for the Kentucky Non-Public School Certification Process.
Holy Name faculty serves on subject area committees that focus on student learning. Once a curriculum area has been updated and approved, instructional material is carefully chosen and purchased for the students.

Our curriculum includes more than reading, math, English, spelling, vocabulary, science and social studies. Religion is a vital part of our school day with formal instruction five days a week. We also include an introduction to the Spanish language and culture, technology, physical education, music, chess, library and much more!
