Accelerated Reader Program
The Accelerated Reader program (AR) at Holy Name is a program in which students read a book and take a computer based test. Accelerated Reader is a fun way for students to grow in the area of comprehension. Each book is worth a given number of points based on the reading level. The students are given a percentage for the number of questions answered correctly and earn a number of points based on their percentage answered correctly.
Students are strongly encouraged to read AR books and to work towards a goal each grading period. Rewards are given throughout the year to those students attaining the goals set forth.
Parents and students can access a list of AR books at http://www.arbookfind.com/UserType.aspx as well as the Henderson County Public Library.
A student's AR record is always available to the parents. A copy may be requested at any time.
